CANNES 2023

OUI, THE NORTH

CANADA READY FOR CANNES

WITH PROJECTS A-PLENTY

may 16 to 27

Canada Pavilion | Canada Stand No. P4.C8

Canada is returning to Cannes with a strong presence at the Cannes Film Market (Marché International du Film), May 16 to 24.

The Canada Pavilion in the Village International will welcome over 300 Canadian delegates and will present exclusive programming to help strengthen the film industry on both sides of the Atlantic.

We have renewed our partnership with Cannes Docs-in-Progress for a fifth year, a programme that has featured several Canadian documentaries that have gone on to receive many accolades on the international festival circuit.

We are honored to be partners on the Marché du Films second edition of impACT Lab, a programme designed to help foster coproduction and guide emerging producers in creating meaningful, sustainable and impactful films.

And what trip to Cannes would be complete without our Not Short on Talent programme? This year 7 short films from Canada will be part of our programme at the Short Film Corner. Participants will also benefit from exclusive mentorship opportunities.

In the Official Selection of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, Canada will be well represented with Monia Chokri`s Simple Comme Sylvain in Un Certain Regard.  Zarrar Kahn will make his debut on La Croisette with his first feature In Flames, presented in the Directors’ Fortnight. The feature documentary Caiti Blues (France, Canada) from director Justine Harbonnier (among our projects in the Docs-In-Progress Canada Showcase at the Market in 2022) has been invited to Cannes parallel sidebar ACID`s 30th edition!

Stay tuned for more information on our programming and presence at the Cannes Film Festival, May 16 to 27.
