ANNECY INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FILM FESTIVAL AND MARKET

This year, 13 Canadian projects will be presented, including two feature films in official competition : The Breadwinner, a Canada-Ireland-Luxembourg coproduction nominated at the Oscars and winner of many prizes at the Canadian Screen Awards, and Wall, directed by Cam Christiansen and produced by the NFB. Virtual reality will also be at the rendezvous with 3 selected projects: GymnasiaMuseum of Symmetry et Isle of Dogs Behind the Scenes in Virtual Reality. What else to add to your agenda? Reception, conferences, lunch… there’s a whole bunch of networking opportunities that are not to be missed!

An artist from Québec chosen to design the official poster!

Pascal Blanchet, a Quebecois self-taught illustrator and graphic novel artist, awarded numerous prizes for his work, has been chosen to design the official poster for this year’s International Animation Film Festival and Market.

“Creating the Annecy poster is a superb opportunity, even more so as it evokes the classic travel posters and seaside resorts of the 1930s. Everything was in place, with the superb lake, the spectacular mountains and the all-white Imperial Palace. This poster is an immense honour for me.” – Pascal Blanchet

Pascal Blanchet has worked for The New Yorker, Wes Anderson and Pierre Lapointe among many others, and is currently directing a short animated film with the National Film Board of Canada.
