Canada is headed down to Cape Town for FAME Week Africa, September 3 – 9, 2023!  

 

This year, Canada will be returning to The Mother City as the Guest Country. In collaboration with the High Commission of Canada in South AfricaTelefilm Canada, the Black Screen Office (BSO), and the Canadian Media Producers Assocation (CMPA) are excited to bring a large presence of 22 delegates. During Africa’s premier event for the film, TV, and music industries, this partnership will promote further collaboration between Canada and Africa.

FAME Week Africa is comprised of MIP AfricaCape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF), Muziki Africa, and Media & Entertainment Solutions Africa (MESA). From content sessions, film screenings, workshops, studio visits, and more, FAME Week Africa attracts film, TV, and music industry experts, creatives and investors to network and showcase their talents.

The Canadian delegation will be partaking in various events, including the Empowering Minds through Visual Storytelling: The Role of Film and TV Schools in Uplifting Education session, the Cinematic Connections: Exploring Canada-South Africa Co-Productions discussion, the Women in Entertainment Breakfast, the From Script to Screen Roundtable: Navigating the Film Landscape session, and the Shaping the Future: The Next Chapter for Film and TV in Africa panel. 

Come visit the Canada Pavilion at Stand Number E12 at CTICC2 where B2B meetings and company showcases will take place from September 4th to 6th. 

In 2022, FAME Week Africa took place over 3 days, with over 5,000 creatives, experts, and investors in attendance from 37 countries.
