COVID-19 Update: Telefilm Canada suspends physical presence at international events until end of summer

Until the end of the summer, Telefilm Canada’s presence at festivals and markets around the world will be exclusively online. In light of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, our physical presence at international festivals and markets will continue to be suspended until August 31, 2021.

Canada will continue to have a strong and robust online presence planned at virtual events this season through digital promotion campaigns, and more. Canadian content, talent, and productions will keep shining online at upcoming events, festivals, and markets (such as Sunnyside of the Doc, the Marché international de film d’animation, and the Marché de Cannes Telefilm Canada is committed to continuing to ensure that Canadian talent and productions are in the international marketplace spotlight.

Telefilm’s mission on the international marketplace remains to:

  • Increase coproduction;

  • Cultivate cultural diplomacy;

  • Amplify Canadian film, television and digital media productions;

  • Strengthen Canada’s reputation as a creator of world-class content
